Explications:

Mary invites the policemen to dinner , but when she went to kitchen to serve them her husband's leg of lamb , she noticed that it wasn't here anymore, she panicked ! And suddenly her husband appeared from the window of her kitchen and decided to forgive her since he understood how much pain she was going through , Mary couldn't believe what was happening , tears were falling nonstop from her eyes and both of them hugged each other and promised to become better human beings
